“Clearheads: A Booze-Free Hang” is a monthly gathering of art, music, and culture that supports healthy
living by providing an artful experience without the need for alcohol. This series is a four month beta
program that is funded through the Denver Music Advancement Fund and was conceptualized by Jen
Korte, an award winning musician and community leader who has contributed to the Denver Music
Community for 16 years. Jen Korte saw the need for a safe space that would offer her sober peers and
community a chance to perform and experience art without intoxicated patrons and without added pressure
from the venue to keep people consuming alcohol. Korte hopes to change the economic relationship of
alcohol and events by changing what is being offered to the patron aside from just booze. Taking alcohol
out of the equation means more opportunity to be more creative with non alcoholic options and also allows
the space to offer access to art for people of all ages vs the +21 model.
Every month will feature a BIPOC owned food truck, local non alcoholic products such as cold coffees,
kombuchas, alcohol free spirits, local produce, small vendors products featuring locally made art, and
entertainment that showcases underserved artists. It will be held at Fort Greene, a historic building located
in Globeville,, owned by Eleanor Cheetham.
The woman-owned business supports other women- and minority-owned businesses. It also hosts an
extensive series of events, including dance nights, stretch and CBD sessions, pop-up markets, art shows,
floral arrangement workshops, medicinal herb workshops, drag shows, intuitive clarity readings,
experimental film screenings, and community fundraisers.
The series will kick off on Sunday, April 3rd, 2022 from 12pm - 4pm and will continue monthly through July.
The first installment will feature performances by Kayla Marque, Alysia Kraft, and DJ Simone Says. Other
artists being featured in the series will be Mux Mool, Its Dozier, Jelie & Juice Box, and more.
